    I have a Japanese car and want US maps.

    No, changing the region from, for example, Japan to the USA is not possible other than changing codes in the EEPROM on the bench. Service we do not provide for now.

    Do some cars also require a software update to run the new maps?

    Yes, rare, but it happens. Mostly only HU4.5. We can send you to our partner for this matter.

    Is this easy?

    Yes;

    1. Download the official latest software to your Windows PC
    2. Get a 64GB USB thumb drive and load the map
    3. Insert the thumb drive into the car and update. Done!
